Users needed a unified platform to discover, track, and review movies and TV shows without juggling multiple services. Existing solutions lacked comprehensive features like watchlist management, spoiler-safe reviews, advanced search, and seamless authentication—all while maintaining excellent performance and SEO.
Built a production-ready Next.js 15 application with App Router, leveraging TypeScript for type safety and TanStack Query + Store for efficient state management. Implemented a reusable design system with CSS Modules following DRY principles. Integrated comprehensive features: JWT authentication with Google OAuth, watchlist CRUD operations, review system with spoiler protection, advanced search and filtering, cast & crew profiles, and media features (trailers, streaming providers, IMDb data).
